TREATMENTS

Ayurvedic massage/Abhyanga

Ayurvedic massage is a therapeutic system, which gives the most natural curing effect through the self-healing technique of the body. It brings about perfect balance of the tridoshas. This type of massage involves the movement of pranic energies within the body. This is done by applying pressure through the muscles and nerves with the aid of various herbal oils. It helps to preserve the vital energies in the body and hence bring agility, flexibility, suppleness and a wonderful feeling of well-being.

Relaxing/Swedish massage

The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage was developed in the 1700's by a Swedish doctor named Per Henrik Ling. If you just want to unwind to calming music and the sound of the water, then lie back and get the old "Shoulder rub" or full body massage.

Reflexology

Reflexologists manipulate reflex zones most commonly on the feet but the hands or ears may also be manipulated. A session usually lasts 45 minutes with the client sitting in a chair or lying on a bed. The practitioner uses thumb fingers in small movements over the sole of the foot. This manipulation prompts the nervous system to speed up the body’s response to an afflicted area by stimulating the flushing of toxins from the area.

THE STAR BATH

As you sink beneath the luxuriant suds and sip your drink, we invite you to reflect on starlight and stardust.

Starlight
Stars are so far away that for most of them, it takes hundreds of millions of years for their light to reach us. When we stare at a star, we look back in time, and witness events that took place eons ago. You even receive light and other waves coming from the very dawn of the universe, silent remnants of a massive explosion of energy that took place before time started and matter formed.

Stardust
Your body consists mainly of molecules of hydrogen, oxygen, carbon and nitrogen. Other than hydrogen, all your molecules formed in supernovae, massive explosions that mark the death of stars. Only a supernova can produce the enormous energy needed to fuse the molecules of hydrogen to form the denser elements. Yes, the molecules of your body, of all living things, of the suds, of the water, of the bathtub, of the ocean, and of the earth, all came from space that gave birth. You are made of stardust, so when your eyes fix on a star, you are staring at the mother of your matter.
