Shaanti would like to announce that our new seafood restaurant is now open to the public and most people already recommend Buddha on the Beach as the place to go for amazing seafood, fantastic service and a spectacular seaside setting!

Buddha on the Beach is located at Shaanti Retreat and has a beautiful, open concept and is open for lunch and dinner by reservation only. All diners face the ocean and enjoy the sound of the waves and the cool breeze from the Indian Ocean. Buddha on the Beach is fully licenced and has a wonderful and extensive wine list.

In the beginning.......

Fresh chunky tuna salad
Chunks of freshly caught tuna, tossed in a Caesar dressing with garden vegetables absolutely delicious!

Classic prawn cocktail
A much-loved favourite of cocktail sized prawns folded into our very own cocktail dressing. Always superb.

Fresh calamari rings bread crumbed to perfection and served with a garlic dip bursting with flavour!

Griddled lobster medallions
Buddhas's own famous speciality! Removed from the shell, marinated and griddled in our secret honey soy sauce. simply divine.

Served on a bed of iceberg lettuce and sprinkled with chopped chives. A lovely chilled dish for those hot and humid nights

Whole Lamu crab, chilli and ginger
An aromatic blend of spices infuse freshly caught crab, cracked, marinated and cooked to excellence. Served on a bed of saffron rice. Fingers are a must!!

Malaysian Llhaksa
Coconut based sauce combines snapper, calamari and prawns on a bed of rice noodlesa festival of flavour and texture.

Smoke-roasted snapper, anchovy butter, mustard cream
Another one of Buddha's specialities! Char- grilled fillet of snapper inundated with our own secret smoky flavour. Served on a bed of spinach and potato bake ideal for those looking for a light yet fulfilling dish.

Blackened Cajun fish, polenta, avocado sauce
Fresh snapper fillet encrusted with our unique home-made blend of Cajun spices. Exceptionally delightful!

Prawns masala, buttered naan
An Eastern favourite accompanied by home-made Naan or Saffron infused rice. Served mild, medium, hot, or for those that can volcano!

Buddha's Swahili prawns
